Yep, Jeff and I are both sick but it's definitely hit him harder than me. On our last post we wrote about our visits to the farmacia. After doing some research and preparing our Spanish a little better our 3rd visit to the farmacia went great. Peptobismol = Butismol No Problemo!! They pulled the pink stuff right off the shelf first try. Muchos gracias!!
By the way, we narrowed the culprit to our malady down to the hamburgers or at least that meal in one of our previous postings. It's the only thing we both ate and mine was pink but Jeff's was pinker. Nothing we wouldn't eat at home.
Yesterday was another day spent reading in the hammocks with the fan on, walking on the beach, and running to the bathroom. It's still beautiful but I think we're both ready to get out of the sand and into a little more civilized locale.
Today we start our 2 day trip down the coast. Our driver/guide is David Day. He's been here several years and has an Ecuadorian wife and 2 beautiful babies. He also went to school at LSU. Geaux Tigers! David's first order of business this morning is finding charcoal pills to help us get back to normal. Not something I've ever taken in the States but this is an Ecuadorian bug and it's tougher than Peptobismol/Bismutol. I'm willing to try an Ecuadorian/natural remedy if it works and it can't hurt us.
We've had a great time in Canoa except for being sick and that's been mostly an inconvenience and not a medical emergency. Certainly not as bad as the Norwalk Virus Mom, Dad, and I had on our cruise! It's beautiful here, the people are friendly, and we did exactly what we planned to do - nothing!
