2nd Monday - Trip to Central Bank Museum

The weather was good today, so we decided to visit the Museo del Banco Central (Central Bank Museum). We visited it last year and found it very interesting. It consists of two parts - an large indoor exhibit and a very large outdoor park known as the Pumapungo Ruins. When we opened the door to the indoor portion, a guard met us and told us that the museum was closed. We think he said it would be open tomorrow. But the outside park was open today.

New Signs in both Spanish and English!

Part of the Ruins

The old brick kilns are still functional

Nice Views and Cloudy Skies

Lots of steps - Llamas are used to mow the grass

After you descend from the ruins, you are in a garden area

Lots of native plants

Nice pond with fish - Dana said they were Piranhas

There was also a nice Aviary

One Parrot would whistle at Dana every time she walked by!

Try this at 8260' above sea level!
